Comprehensive Diagnostics
at Modern Love Veterinary
At Modern Love Veterinary, diagnostics are more than a checklist. Diagnostics help our veterinary team learn what your animal needs. Our clinic features some of the most advanced in-house digital laboratory resources and digital radiology available in general practice, plus access to highly sophisticated outside laboratories and specialists when needed. From routine screenings to complex cases, we can help pets receive the diagnostic care they need.
In-house Digital Laboratory
Our on-site lab is built for comprehensive capabilities to evaluate overall health and investigate concerns. Our diagnostic tests include:
Bloodwork (CBC, chemistry, thyroid and more)
Helps identify issues such as kidney disease, diabetes, and endocrine disorders while assessing organ function and inflammation.
Urinalysis
Provides insight into urinary tract health, kidney function, hydration, and metabolic conditions.
Fecal testing
Screens for intestinal parasites and helps explain digestive changes.
Heartworm testing & tick-borne disease screening
Detects heartworm and exposure to vector-borne illnesses often associated with fleas and ticks (e.g., Lyme, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis).
If a case calls for additional depth, we work with an advanced external laboratory for specialized assays and pathology, which expands the diagnostic picture without sacrificing the quality of care.
Digital Radiology (X-ray)
Our digital X-ray system supports clear imaging to help our veterinary team detect injuries or conditions that may be affecting your pet’s health:
- Bones and joints: fractures, arthritis, and orthopedic changes
- Chest: heart size/shape and lung patterns
- Abdomen: stomach, intestines, liver, spleen, and other organs
Radiographs complement lab findings to pinpoint what’s going on, and guide the next steps in care.
Clear Communication and a Calm Experience
Diagnostics work best when everyone is comfortable and informed. We use low-stress handling and a calming environment to support anxious animals. Just as important, we explain what each test does, why we recommend it, and what results may mean. Questions and second opinions are welcome. You always have the final say in your pet’s care.
Whether it’s an annual wellness screening or figuring out why an animal isn’t feeling their best, our veterinary team combines technology with clinical insight. We pair findings from bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal tests, vector-borne disease screening, and radiographs to better understand what is going on with your pet. This means decisions are informed, purposeful, and tailored to your goals.
Access to Outside Diagnostics
Some cases benefit from more advanced resources. When appropriate, we coordinate with trusted reference labs and imaging partners for specialized testing or consultations. This collaboration extends our capabilities while keeping your primary care team closely involved.
Modern Love Veterinary offers robust diagnostic services to detect conditions like kidney disease, diabetes, endocrine disorders, heartworm, and tick-borne illness, and to understand the cause when animals aren't feeling their best. The result is thoughtful, transparent medicine in a calm setting, centered on what matters to you and your pet.
