Meet Our Team

Dr. Donald worked as a respected veterinarian in Minneapolis and San Diego before deciding to open her own clinic in the North Loop in downtown Minneapolis. She studied veterinary medicine at the University of Minnesota and is also certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture (CvMA). She feels lucky to have found such rewarding work and genuinely looks forward to the challenges every new day brings.

Dr. Jones attended the University of Minnesota for both her undergraduate degree as well as for her veterinary degree. She is Fear Free Certified to ensure stress-free handling for every pet. She is passionate about dog and cat behavior and optimizing the emotional health of pets and pet parents. Dr. Jones takes a special interest in clinical nutrition, dentistry, dermatology, and endocrinology. Outside of work she stays busy with her own pets and her two-year-old daughter.

Dr. Hartson came to the veterinary field via a more winding path than most. She grew up in Fargo, ND
with a menagerie of animals and studied sociology at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. She then
switched coasts to work in television in California for 6 years before going back to school to fulfill a
lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated from University of Minnesota College of
Veterinary Medicine in 2020 and is excited to join the team at Modern Love. She has a passion for
small exotic pet medicine, surgery, and feline medicine. She lives in St. Paul with her 2 dogs, 6 cats, 1
guinea pig, 2 ferrets, and her blue-tongued skink. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with the dogs
(can’t seem to get the cats on board with hiking), baking, binging true crime shows, reading, and
knitting.

Elle grew up in Minnesota and found their way into veterinary medicine in 2021. They worked their way through school as a veterinary assistant at Modern Love and graduated in Spring 2025 to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. They have always had a deep passion for animal wellbeing, with specific interests in large animal medicine, wildlife, and aquatic life. Elle is Fear Free Certified and a PADI Certified Scuba Diver. They enjoy watercolor painting, watching wrestling, and lounging around with their cat, Big Mama.

Allison currently lives in Minneapolis and was officially certified in 2021. She is dedicated and passionate about the work she does. She looks forward to getting to know her patients and what personalities they reveal everyday. In her free time you'll find her camping around Minnesota or playing with her two kitties, Mikko and Riku.

Hannah became a CVT in 2021 after being inspired to learn to care for her childhood cat as she aged. She spent 4 years working in Emergency and Critical Care and is CPR certified in both Basic and Advanced Life Support. She is excited to delve deeper into surgery and dentistry at Modern Love.

Lindsay has worked as a veterinary assistant since 2007. She taught puppy classes for many years, and is a certified trainer through Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She takes special interest in dogs who have fear-based reactivity. When not working, she has a blast with 2 young children, 3 dogs, 4 cats, and working with rescue organizations.

Kristi grew up in rural Wisconsin and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Northland College in 2017. She has a special interest in wildlife, and while in college interned at a wildlife rehabilitation center in Lynwood, Washington. She earned Fear Free certification while working at Modern Love. In her free time she enjoys reading, music, and snuggling with her cat, Oatmeal.

Haley grew up in Pequot Lakes, MN, and is currently in school studying biology. She joined Modern Love Veterinary in 2021, but had been a client for several years before that. Her favorite part of the job is giving treats and attention to patients when they check in and out for their appointments. In her free time, she enjoys singing, cooking, taking care of her growing collection of house plants, and snapping excessive photos of her senior cat, Honey.
